No Meeting This Week!!!!

Ok, looks like this Sunday we will be meeting at 4pm. Times may change in the future. We have also decided that due to holiday craziness just around the bend, we will get together for encouragement and fellowship for now. We will start the book after the Christmas holidays. You in? Can't wait to hang out!! See you soon!

Let's Get Started!!!

Are you ready to get started? I am. I have picked a book for us to read through and discuss together. It is Captivating: unveiling the mystery of a woman's soul by John and Stasi Eldredge.  Here is a snippet from the back of the book: The message of Captivating is this: Your heart matters more than anything else in all creation. The desires you had as a little girl and the longings you still feel as a woman-they are telling you of the life God created you to live. He offers to come now as the Hero of your story, to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman. A  woman who is truly captivating.


Does that sound good to you? It does to me. Let's find out who God created us to be as girls, women, who He says that we are and what that tells us about Him. Go pick up a copy and start reading. We'll discuss chapter one on Sunday November 7th. I will post the time here soon. Let me know if you can't get your own copy and I will pick up an extra.

Times, they are changing.....

It is a new season and new things are happening! I am starting a new study with a new bunch of girls. I am going to redo the blog, change the name and all of the other stuff. You all are welcome to read along and join us in our discussions online. I hope that you all are doing well. I miss seeing your faces in the hallways and at girls group. Please update me sometime with how you are doing. I would love to know!!!!

Where Has The Summer Gone?

Oh man! Do you feel the same way? Where have the days gone? Seriously.

I have so enjoyed reading Crazy Love. Last weeks chapter on obsession has really stuck with me. I enjoyed it a lot and have been contemplating it all week. What stuck with you?

Remember we are meeting today!! Two weeks left, including today, and that is it! Then you all start heading to college and I get to go back to the high school. Hey! That doesn't sound fair. Just kidding, I can't wait to get back.

And on a side note if someone wants to come over a bit early this week and help me do a couple things I would be oh so appreciative! This broken foot is a bummer.

CANCELLING This Tuesday

I hate to cancel this weeks meeting, but I am wiped out. No energy. Nada. The broken foot is yelling at me for overdoing it tonight and I have to rest so that I can heal. Please keep reading!! We'll meet up on the 6th.

Hey Ladies!!!!

This has been a crazy week!!! Has it been for you guys? What have you been up to? I broke my foot last Tuesday. Bet you can't beat that one! Needless to say, I am moving slowly and forgot how difficult it is to do things on crutches! I have lots of time to read, catch up on t.v. shows and movies, and visit with anyone who wants to come my way. I kind of think God wanted me to slow down. I am taking the hint.

This leaves me wondering who is showing up tomorrow afternoon? I want to be prepared. Please try to let me know. I would really appreciate it!

I hope that you all are having more fun than I am!! See you soon.

Did you remember?

Surely you did, that today is Father's Day. I hope that you are spending some quality time with your dads or the people that have been father figures in your lives. I am taking off soon to have dinner to celebrate my dad. It will be nice and relaxing!

I was struck this morning, thinking about father's day, by our Father God. His love for us is so grand. So big. I found myself reminded that he longs to hold me and calls me by name. He knows my name!! That still blows my mind. I mean, we have been reading about this, backing it up with scripture and truth. Sometimes I still forget. I have to be reminded. We all need to be reminded.

I hope that you get some time today to spend a few minutes basking in the love of God. He wants you to.

How Are Ya'll Doing?

Are you staying cool? It is seriously hot today. I think that I have only stepped outside twice. I only do well with heat if I have a pool nearby!

Can you believe that another week has gone by? This summer is going by too fast. I need it to slow down. I know that you all are getting busy with vacations, missions trips and college orientations!!! That is so crazy. With all of busy lives, please try to let me know if you are coming or not on any given week. Danielle and I don't mind meeting on our own, but I really want to talk about the book with you guys!

What are you thinking about it so far? Has is made you think about how God loves you and how you respond to His love? It has made me think a lot. And it has started some great conversations.

By the way, if for some reason you have left a comment and it didn't get posted, I may have had some settings turned off. Still tweaking things around here.

I can't wait to see you all tomorrow! We'll try to keep it cool in here. I am going to eat some dinner.... see you soon!

Another Tuesday...

Another Tuesday. The summer is going to go by fast. I am up early and the air is cool and the birds are singing. I love the way that God created morning sunrises and the world wakes up to greet Him. Remember how we talked about the seemingly small things that God made? The caterpillar.... amazing. I have been watching seeds sprout this weekend. Such amazing life in such a small thing.

Lleulu is sitting at the front door "talking" to some other animal. I think it is amazing how she has different "languages" for different species. Have you noticed that with any of your pets? Lleulu meows to humans, hisses at cats, chitter chatters to chipmunks and birds, and trills to her toy we call Baby. That is four distinct and different ways of speaking for a cat. God blows my mind!

Have you girls had time to reflect upon what we have read and talked about? It has been swimming though my mind and heart. I love our discussions and can't wait to have more of them!!

To those of you who are out of town, we missed you! To those of you tin town, see you this afternoon!

Happy Memorial Day

Hey ladies! Just wanted to wish you all a happy Memorial Day. I hope that you have some fun and relaxing plans with family and friends, and remember to honor those that served our country so that we have the freedom that we do today.

Also a quick reminder that we are meeting on Wednesday instead of Tuesday this week. Can't wait to see you all!

Thanks ladies for showing up today. We had a great time talking about God. I am so encouraged by all of you and look forward to meeting all summer long!! If you didn't make it out today try to come next week.

Due to Memorial day weekend craziness we will move Next Tuesday's meeting to Wednesday. Same time. Same place.

One thing that I forgot to ask..... what do you want to get out of meeting together this summer?

The Countdown!

It isn't long now until our first meeting! I know that all of you are busy with graduation plans. I am so excited for you! You've made it! Only two more days and you get to walk across the stage. Then two more days and we get to meet together. Can you tell that I am excited?

Welcome girls! We'll be having our first meeting soon. Tentatively we will be meeting for the first time on May 25th. If the date changes we will let you know.
